About

We’re committed to supporting women and gender-diverse people in the technology industry.

Our origins

Born in Newcastle, NSW, Coded Diversity started with the Women and Gender-Diverse People in Technology group. We created this gathering because our Founders wanted to meet more of the multi-talented women and gender-diverse people in the technology space, and to foster an area where this community can likewise meet others and start forming connections. It’s no secret that there is a significant gender disparity in the technology industry, so we love being able to support each other in thriving while doing what we love at work.

Our passion for promoting gender diversity in tech continued to carry us through. We created Breaking the Binary, our podcast series, so we could share inspirational stories from women and gender-diverse people further. We’ve also been lucky enough to help women in our network gain valuable connections, advice, and support on an individual level.

We wanted to go one step further, too. Our next big project is creating workplaces that are sustainable and accessible for women and gender-diverse people, by offering education, training, and policy advice to businesses. We know that getting started in making cultural change can be hard for business leaders, so we’re here to help. Together we can make technology a place where people of all genders can thrive.
